Shipping & Delivery
All stones are shipped by the US postal service. They will be sent out either insured mail, or registered mail, whichever is more economical based on the value.
Privacy & Security
Preferred Gemstones will not give, sell, or rent your personally identifiable information, including e-mail, personal data, and credit card information, to anyone.

In our effort to ensure a safe and secure online shopping experience, we wish to share information about our exhaustive user information protection and transaction security policies.

a) SSL Encryption:

At any instance when a customer enters personal data while shopping or checking out of our site, we process the information via secure software technology to guarantee the safest shopping environment. When the customer is ready to check out from our site after making a purchase, a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connection is invoked to transfer all sensitive data in a safe and secure way. The SSL encrypts the information, including name, address, and credit card number, so that unauthorized individuals cannot observe, decode, or misuse it as it is transmitted over the Internet.


Returns & Refunds

There will be a 20% restocking fee for all returned or cancelled orders.  This is to cover the cost of the Credit Card and PayPal fees that we still have to pay because of the transaction.  Refunds for the cost of an item are made if the purchaser is dissatisfied and notifies Preferred Gemstones within 2 (two) days and returns the item within 5 (five) days of receipt of the item.

No Exceptions!  Requests for refunds must be made by e-mail.  info@preferredgemstones.com Preferred Gemstones will issue a refund upon receipt of the item(s) if the item is in an unaltered and undamaged state, less any shipping and handling charges. Shipping and Handling costs are not refundable.

Please note that the customer is responsible for the cost of shipping items to Preferred Gemstones and for return shipping charges.

All merchandise must be returned with ALL it's original packaging and be in the new condition it was originally sold in. Damaged or altered merchandise will not be accepted

Ordering

We endeavor to accurately represent and describe gemstones as to appearance, size, origin and fully disclose any known treatments in its description. Because you view the images on a different monitor with different settings, color is particularly fickle to represent, but we do our best. All gemstones are natural unless otherwise stated in the description. All photos are actual products.

We accept PayPal if you are ordering online. Just look for the button when you check out!
Viewing Orders
All gemstone/jewelry images are of the actual item. We do not use stocked imagery. All gemstones/jewelry are photographed in a specially designed setup utilizing the latest in lighting and digital camera techniques. Incandescent lighting is sometimes used to supplement the fluorescent lighting to show certain types of gems (emeralds, rubies, amethyst) more accurately. We do not Photoshop our gems to alter colors, hues or to hide flaws. We only use Photoshop to size, crop and optimize (to load faster) images for online viewing. Please note that all monitors are calibrated differently and those images will look different on different monitors.
Updating Account Information
Becoming a member of Preferred Gemstones is free. Membership carries the following benefits:
• You will be authorized to purchase on Preferred Gemstones website.
• View your account history and full details of all orders you make will be stored permanently in your account. Full details of each gemstone/jewelry item will also be store.
• Use our wishlist feature to add items to your wishlist as you browse.
• You will receive periodic special offers which are only visible to members and are not published on the public site
• You will receive our acclaimed gem newsletter designed to keep you informed about the gemstones you are interested in and the industry in general.
• You will be able to put in special requests for custom cutting or for gemstone you might want and we don’t have in our inventory
